Fieldtrip to Teatro Viradalata

What an exciting experience!

As part of our Unit of Inquiry, we have been learning about different ways stories are told. We went to see our favourite stories  mixed up live and in action! We traveled to Teatro Viradalata to see the theatre company Cia. Le Plat Du Jour perform `Coquetel de Fadas`.

As part of the trip we examined elements of theater such as props and scenery, and prepared questions to ask the actors about themselves and the performance.

We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed the trip!

P.E.

Stories are told in a variety of ways.

During this Unit, children used their creativity to retell stories.
They built the scenery with PE equipment, worked together to tell new stories and adapted games’ rules.

Busy Days in PYP 2

Busy Days in PYP 2

We have a few big events coming up!

1. Field Trip!

Thursday, the 16th, we will be going to the theater! We will be watching "Coquetel de Fadas" at Teatro Viradalata. We will be investigating different ways stories can be told for our Unit of Inquiry. There are a few things to keep in mind to help us have a successful trip:
  • Double check that you have sent your permission slips and money (55 R$)
  • Students wear normal uniforms on the day of the trip, make sure students wear comfortable shoes.
  • We will leave school at 9 and return at 12 for lunch.

2. Assembly!

PYP 2 assemblies are coming up. We will be sending 'save the dates' so you know which day your child's assembly will be. We would love you to come and see the students present what we have been working on.

3. Student led meetings!

For the first time, PYP 2 students will be participating in student led meetings. On the 4th of April (Pinheiros) and on the 5th of April (Jd Europa), regular lessons will be cancelled so that students can show parents what they have been learning and talk about their goals for the year. Groups of families will have a scheduled time, and will talk with students and see activities for 40 minutes. This experience will be different from a teacher meeting in that these meetings are student led.The focus of these meetings will be students talking to parents.
