Marshmallow Challenge!
In PYP 2 we are having a great year so far!
In our Unit of Inquiry, about Who We Are, we are investigating our emotions and how our behaviours affect our relationships. This week we have been learning about ways to work together. We will continue to practise and reflect on these skills as the Unit progresses.
To practise group work skills we did an amazing building activity called, "The Marshmallow Challenge." In this activity, students attempted to build a freestanding structure with a marshmallow on top made from twenty spaghetti noodles, a meter of tape, and a meter of string. This difficult task was a chance to observe, reflect on and improve our group work skills. After we have learned more strategies for working together, we will do the activity again for students to see how they have grown. Students loved trying to build the structures, and we hope you enjoy seeing the process. Stay tuned for photos of our next attempt.
