Our Roles and Jobs

Investigating Jobs

In PYP 2 we have been investigating jobs. Students have class jobs, and have been taking more responsibility in the classroom. We studied jobs through literature and observation. Students thought about jobs that they might like to do one day. To better understand how our community works, we identified the jobs around the school, the responsibilities of those jobs, the equipment they use and how we can help through observation. Students then generated questions that they were curious about but that had not been answered through observation to ask staff members in an interview. By learning more about our community, students begin to understand more about responsibility and develop empathy.
